What Is A Man? Gillette Ad Response Video
I go through the ad and share what I think about it and my take on how masculinity and maleness are being misrepresented and the statics may even suggest that it’s even harmful especially to male youth. For the same reason that it’s offensive to attribute the word toxic to any identity such as gender or sexual orientation is inherently attacking the identity of that collective. That’s exactly why saying something like toxic heterosexuality or toxic homosexuality would be ridiculous. Also a quick search for toxic masculinity reveals that “hegemonic masculinity” which is one of the various type of masculinity claimed by new age gender studies derived from Marxism which is basically the rhetoric of the alt-left and many dangerous socialist movements.
When I searched up toxic masculinity I got random article on random websites like these with Marxist ideology: https://www.advocate.com/women/2017/12/11/what-toxic-masculinity
A quick Wikipedia check will explain in depth how it’s tied in with Marxism and new age gender study theorem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hegemonic_masculinity#Toxic_masculinity
The urban dictionary definition was surprisingly positive: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Toxic%20Masculinity
Enough of that though I just thought you may want to see some of what I read while doing this.

This is a beautiful response to the Gillette ad and it very accurately shows where men are today and we should be represented. We fight for what we believe in, we protect what we love, and we are doing better than we’ve ever done. Don’t feel bad for being competent, hard working, and ambitious. You matter. Men have drastically higher suicide rates. You don’t need lectures and advice, you may instead need help. So don’t attack and accuse, help and lift up. We have to put on a brave face, but there’s so many men that are in fact suffering. I am not one, but this is important and the only people who are going to speak up for men for the most part are other men so we have to put ourselves in the spotlight somewhat uncomfortably to speak out against the false narratives at play in our society.
